I have lived in Ringwood for over 6 years now and had never been to Lindos. We drive passed on a weekly basis and I kept thinking that I should pop in. Well on Monday I finally arrived!
My husband and I arrived and was greeted by the floor manager? We explained that we had a booking and she showed us to a table near the window (Score!!) We were given menus and asked what we wanted to drink. When we told her just water (trying to cut back sugar) she didn’t seem impressed and walked off.
My Husband and I looked over the menu and loved the idea of tapas and pizza but in the end caved into entree and mains. We are big lovers of Italian food and could not go passed having bruschetta for entree, I then chose Penne Siciliana for mains which consisted of chorizo sausage, sundried tomatoes, olives, bacon & Napoli sauce and Hubby chose Penne Princes which was made up of chicken, chorizo, sundried tomatoes, pesto & parmesan sauce.
Another young lady came and took our order and she was a lot more upbeat and interactive, although we did have to motion for someone even though the restaurant was fairly quiet.
The bruschetta came out and it would of had to been the highlight dish of the night. So rich and vibrant in colour and the taste was explosive! The freshness of the ingredients was highly impressive and we could of eaten another round!
After we had finished, our mains came out and my Penne Sicilliana looked and smelt amazing. With my first bit I felt warm and cozy as I ate this delightful comfort food. Everything was fresh and tasted perfect. The only let down is that the dish had way too many sundried tomatoes in it, leaving the dish a bit sameish and the chorizo needed to of been charred a little to bring out the flavour.
My Husbands Penne Princes was perfect and I had total food envy! About 3/4 of the way through I suggested that we swap as his tasted a lot better than mine. Just the mix of pesto and parmesan made the dish outstanding and I wish that I had ordered it!
After when asked about dessert we decided to share a sticky date pudding and I ordered a piccolo. I didn’t eat much of the sticky date as I am watching my sugar but it was soft, warm and full of oozey, sugary, heavenly goodness. The piccolo however tasted like dirt and one of the worst coffees that I had ever tasted.
All up given okay services, great food and terrible coffee, I give Lindos in Ringwood a 7/10..
